So what Is Energy Healing, anyway?
Or, as my dad asks, “What’s that woo-woo stuff you’re doing?”
I know, the idea of “energy healing” might sound strange at first and many people don’t understand it until they actually try it and feel it..
But it’s actually based on something very simple:
Everything is energy.
Your body, your thoughts, your emotions which all carry energy.
You’ve felt it before; that weird tension when someone walks into a room angry… or that peace you feel around someone calm. That’s energy.
When we go through stress, trauma, or big life changes, it can leave an imprint like a fog or block in our system. Sometimes we don’t even realize we’re carrying it. Energy healing helps clear that. It works with your body’s natural ability to heal and find balance; physically, emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually (if that’s your thing). It’s a practice of tuning in and resetting your system.
A Few Ways People Use Energy Healing:
- When they feel anxious, stuck, or emotionally drained
- When they’re going through grief or heartbreak
- When they want clarity, peace, or a sense of direction
- When traditional therapy isn’t enough, or they want a more holistic path
- When they’re open to deeper healing beyond the physical
Today, ancient knowledge has been modernized into different healing modalities, or tools to use, such as Reiki, breathwork, CranialSacral, Quantum Healing, Somatic Theta or guided meditations; but they all work with your body’s energy system.
You Are an Energy System. Just like your physical body has a heart and lungs…
Your energetic system has:
- Chakras = your energy centers
- Meridians = your energy highways
- Aura = your energetic atmosphere
- Subconscious blueprint = where your patterns and stories live
- Soul frequency = your essence
When these systems are flowing and aligned, you feel:
- Clear
- Calm
- Connected
- Grounded
- Empowered
- Fully you
But when your system is overwhelmed from trauma, stress, emotional suppression, or inherited beliefs energy gets stuck. That’s when you might feel:
- Anxious
- Exhausted
- Disconnected
- Reactive
- Foggy
- Like something is “off,” but you can’t name it
Ancient cultures from all over the world have worked with energy for thousands of years. They didn’t call it “woo.” They called it medicine.
Science is just starting to catch up showing how our thoughts and emotions affect our physical health, how the nervous system responds to stress, and how the body stores trauma.
So no, it’s not “woo.” It’s ancient wisdom. And it works. You don’t have to “get it” or “believe” to benefit from it. You just need to be open to the idea that there’s more to you than what you can see and that healing doesn’t always come in a bottle or a diagnosis. Sometimes it comes from slowing down, listening in, and letting your energy flow again.
